K5 ENGLISH PROJECT: "LUNCHTIME"

April 29, 2016

LUNCHTIME IS A VERY IMPORTANT MOMENT FOR US. IT'S A MOMENT WHERE WE GET TOGETHER WITH OUR FRIENDS, WE SHARE, WE TALK AND WE GET TO KNOW THEM BETTER .

K5 CHILDREN  TALKED ABOUTTHIS TOPIC , THEN VOTED AND CAME UP WITH FIVE LUNCHTIME MANNERS THAT WE ALL  HAVE TO FOLLOW IN ORDER TO CREATE A NICE AND POLITE ATMOSPHERE DURING LUNCHTIME:

1) SPEAK ONLY AFTER YOU HAVE  SWALLOWED YOUR FOOD.

2) WHEN YOU ARE EATING, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT.

3) PLEASE, DON´T MAKE RUDE NOISES.

4) KEEP YOUR ELBOWS OFF THE TABLE.

5) WHEN YOU ARE DONE, PUT YOUR LUNCHBOX BACK ON THE CART.

IN ORDER TO REMEMBER THESE "LUNCHTIME GOOD MANNERS' PROCEDURES" THE KIDS THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO TAKE PICTURES OF WHAT THEY SHOULD AND SHOULDN´T DO.  SO THEY MADE HAPPY AND SAD FACES AND STUCK THEM NEXT TO THE PICTURES, IN ORDER TO SEE FOR THEMSELVES WHAT IS THE EXPECTED BEHAVIOR.

THESE PICTURES ARE STUCK ON A WALL IN  K BUILDING WHERE THE CHILDREN HAVE THEIR LUNCH EVERYDAY. YOU ARE WELCOME TO FOLLOW THEM AND USE THESE "LUNCHTIME MANNERS' PROCEDURES" AT HOME AS WELL!

"HOW TO SET THE TABLE?"

WHILE TALKKING IN THE BIG GROUP, THE KIDS STARTED SHARING THAT THEY USUALLY HELP THEIR PARENTS TO SET THE TABLE. WHEN WE STARTED TALKING ABOUT SETTING THE TABLE THEY REALIZED THAT THERE WERE MANY WAYS TO DO IT, SO WE DECIDED TO UNIFY OUR IDEAS AND MAKE A PROCEDURE TO SET THE TABLE THAT WE COULD ALL  SHARE AT HOME.

THE TEACHER ASKED: "WHAT IS THE FIRST THING WE NEED?"

THEY HAD TO ANSWER USING THE STRUCTURE "WE NEED..."

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW IT WENT ABOUT? GREAT! KEEP READING...

JUANCHO. "WE NEED A TABLE CLOTH"

 FRANCISCA. "WE NEED A PLATE"

MATEO  "WE NEED A KNIFE AND FORK"

WE ALL AGREED THAT THE KNIFE SHOULD GO ON THE RIGHT AND THE FORK ON THE LEFT.

SIMON SUGGESTED THAT ONLY IN RESTAURANTS THE SPOON IS ON THE TABLE. SO HE TOOK THE SPOON AND PLACED IT ABOVE THE PLATE.

 CLARITA  ,"WE NEED A GLASS"

THE TEACHER EXPLAINED THAT THE GLASS SHOULD BE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PLATE, JUST ABOVE THE KNIFE. SO SHE PUT THE GLASS ON THE RIGHT SPOT.

AMANDA: " IT'S MY TURN! WE NEED A NAPKIN".

WE HAD TROUBLE PLACING THE NAPKIN BECAUSE THE CHILDREN COULDN'T AGREE ON WHERE TO PLACE IT. AMANDA FINALLY PLACED IT UNDER THE KNIFE AND EVERYONE THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA.

OUR OWN PLACEMATS!

DURING THIS PROJECT, THE CHILDREN CREATED IN THE MINI ATELIER CENTRE THESE WONDERFUL PLACEMATS! THEY USED COLOR PAPERS AND EACH OF THEM COULD  CREATE SOMETHING SPECIAL AND UNIQUE THAT REPRESENTS THEM. TAKE A LOOK!!
